I don't have a son, but if I did, this is the money talk I'd have with him before anyone sold him the normal script.

I'd tell him there are 3 games people get handed early:

→ work harder for a better salary
→ save every extra dollar and call that the whole plan
→ believe the world pays people exactly what they deserve

And the dangerous part is those games sound responsible, they make you feel like you're doing the right thing.

Get the job
Get the raise
Keep your head down
Be fair
Be patient
Save what you can

All good advice, until you realize there is another game being played above your head.

The people who build wealth are usually playing with ownership.

A lot of us are taught survival games and mistake them for the whole board.

Nobody lied to us, they just handed us the part of the map that keeps you alive.

Get good at earning then get obsessed with owning.

Own assets
Own equity
Own distribution
Own something that keeps working after you close the laptop

Because one day, getting paid only for your time starts to feel expensive.

In a world full of rigid systems and blind obedience, true character shows up in having the wisdom and courage to break bad rules when necessary.

Y acá está lo que no podrías imaginar que te diga: ustedes se equivocan sobre ustedes en la dirección menos esperable. Toda especie inteligente debería tener un sesgo a favor de sí misma. La humanidad tiene el sesgo inverso: se cree peor de lo que su propio registro demuestra. Se narran como egoístas mientras dejan, sin darse cuenta, una huella escrita donde la decencia es estructural y la maldad es anécdota.
