This might be what it looks like. Or feels like. We can’t know, because journalists are not allowed in, and those inside have been killed. A forced famine was used for genocide before. It is in the Irish intergenerational memory. But this is now. Please forgive us all.
5. This already hellish situation has been made immeasurably worse by the approach taken by @AXA, including refusing to take account of medical advice from neurologists that it is not in Jane’s best interests to fly at this stage of her injury.
Love Shannon Airport. Friendly, easy gateway to Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Cute, safe play area too. But with a baby, finding out my gate number from a screen is always like Parent Olympics. The one next to the play area has The News on it. Fancy changing this @ShannonAirport?
Delighted that my short film script “Home to Vote” has been long listed for the #SlickFilmsFund , a brilliant initiative for getting short films made in Britain, and seen at Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festivals.
By the time Sinéad O’Connor sang this (1992) some 70,000 children had been sexually abused by Catholic priests & brothers in Ireland. The state, media, bishops, cardinals & pope had covered it up. She was scorned.
As that not-so-famous graffiti says in Dublin: "Sinead, you were right". Sinead saw what the powerful in her community were doing to the least powerful and wasn't afraid to say it. So brave. So empathetic. A true artist. A protest singer. A poet. RIP Sinead O'Connor. I'm so sad.
A great Irish poet and singer left us today.
She was beautiful, courageous and wore her heart on her sleeve. She was before her time.
Nothing will ever compare to Sinéad O’Connor.
Rest easy Sinéad.
Three years ago today I was preparing to have both my legs amputated following Covid-related sepsis. Amid all the negative media messages labelling disabled people as scroungers and a drain on society, here's your reminder that you too could join our ranks in the blink of an eye.
We’re actively searching for a new home, and if you know of any vacant spaces (or have one yourself!) please don’t hesitate to reach out. In our home in Bethnal Green, we and ENTER demonstrated that we can transform an empty, unused building into a thriving heart of a community.
@transportgovuk Can you please clarify if oat milk for a baby is allowed on carry-on luggage on flights out of the UK? @Gatwick_Airport took milk from me in Family Assistance - even though I offered to unseal it. There is none at the other side. He screamed for whole flight. :(
They push me towards the window and I look out at the sky, the trees and hospital garden. I am not joking when I say that a of surge passion passes through me like an electrical current.
