Agree! Horse racing is not a team sport. You’ll never get a true fan base built around teams that only exist because somebody randomly selected a few trainers and Horses.
Would highly prefer two additional Breeders’ Cup events as you put it .
Leverage the history we have instead of trying to invent something new.
@RenCarothers@CBredar I’ve not seen anybody explore or explain why this is happening. Was TVG losing money? Or is FanDuel just way more interested in other sports?
Pimlico was a dump too. But there was so much history to Old Hilltop. Aqueduct is full of history too. And it’s not coming back. So I get it. There’s going to be a feeling of loss for some people. And they’ve got a right to feel that way. Let’s hope the last remaining beauties hang on!
@FasigTiptonCo@keenelandsales@OBSSales
Idea: A contest for fans to pick the top 2-year-old and 3-year-old to emerge from Keeneland/OBS/Fasig Tipton sales.
$50 per horse. Unlimited entries.
All money goes to @TBaftercare
The person (or people) who pick the top 2-year-old or 3-year-old performers go into a drawing to win a grand prize - worth at least $10,000. (All expenses-paid trip to the Breeders' Cup or Kentucky Derby for two people -- with prime seating.)
Bonus: You get to position yourself as the NBA/NFL draft of horse racing and get fans involved. Plus support a worthy cause in Thoroughbred Aftercare.
The vast majority of people hate their jobs, hate their life, and they are not building anything of substance… even on a small scale. They will always prioritize, cheap, easy escape at the expense of health. And attack people who *are* building because to admit the truth would be unbearable.
