Twenty-five Ukrainian soldiers are set to march in Paris on Tuesday 14 July as part of the celebrations for France's national holiday. A further 500 soldiers from the Coalition of the Willing (Germany, Australia, Canada, Romania, the United Kingdom and Poland) will march with French troops in a parade designed as a 'strategic signal' to Moscow.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky will stand together in a show of solidarity.
"We are fighting together, and we stand with the people of Ukraine," Macron said on the eve of Bastille Day, speaking after another coalition meeting. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded enthusiastically, thanking France, and in particular Macron — whom he described as a "true friend of Ukraine" — for their support, and awarding him the Order of Freedom.

2/Many U.S. Teens Underestimate Fentanyl’s Deadly Risk
A majority of 8th-graders and roughly a third of 10th- and 12th-graders do not see a great risk with using fentanyl once or twice, researchers report by JAMA Network Open.
Drug poisonings and overdoses rank third among the leading causes of death for kids and teens in the United States. Although fewer adolescents are using illicit drugs overall, a growing percentage are dying from overdoses. And fentanyl plays a role in at least 75 percent of overdose deaths among adolescents.

Ukraine is changing its political strategy. Each priority area of foreign policy will be assigned to a specific person with substantial experience who is capable of implementing what we agree on at the leaders’ level and what the Ukrainian people expect. The most important of these areas include the United States and our agreements on licenses to manufacture Patriot systems, as well as other bilateral security cooperation, which must translate into clear gains for our countries and for Ukrainian and American companies; the European antiballistic project, which could become one of the most significant steps to strengthen Europe this decade; the European Union, where we need clear progress toward Ukraine’s membership and deeper ties in every area – economic, political, and cultural; Ukraine’s neighboring countries, relations with which require a new foundation, especially Poland and Hungary; the Middle East and Gulf region as one of the most promising global areas for security and economic cooperation; China; and key international organizations that influence global decisions and can do more to help end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The same applies to our domestic work. There are new challenges and new tasks. All work in Ukraine’s frontline and border regions, which come under Russian attack every day, must be significantly strengthened. I expect increased supplies of the weapons our army needs, including all types of drones.
Preparing for winter is an extremely important priority, and Ukraine must be ready for every threat that may arise. The transformation of state-owned companies, on which Ukraine’s resilience significantly depends, must be accelerated. Ukraine’s agreements with its partners on recovery also require separate and focused attention. Accordingly, personnel changes will begin in Ukraine to ensure the implementation of the updated political strategy. We discussed the details with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko. We determined that these changes require a renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers. I am grateful to Yuliia for her clear, steady, and effective work as Prime Minister, for her years of productive service on Ukraine’s team, and I have offered her the opportunity to lead a new and important area of relations with a key partner. I expect that, together with MPs, we will make the corresponding changes in the Government of Ukraine. There will also be changes among the heads of law enforcement agencies.
Thank you to everyone who helps! Thank you to everyone who defends Ukraine’s national interests. Glory to Ukraine!
The Ukrainian intelligence officer who previously confessed to killing the woman suspected of the attempted assassination of multimillionaire Vadym Yermolayev and his family in Monaco last week has changed his confession, now denying he pulled the trigger. Vladyslav Reut, who led investigators to Anastasiia Berezovska's grave in the woods, has now put the blame on his alleged accomplice during a custody hearing in Kyiv this Thursday. President Volodymyr Zelensky said he will have "additional relevant reports" to share later.
The motive for the Monaco blast remains unclear. Yermolayev made his money in cognac and real estate, and he denounced his Ukrainian citizenship some years ago, according to the BBC. Kyiv has sanctioned him since for doing business in Crimea after it was taken by Russia. Berezovska, his would-be-assassin, has also been murdered, with Reut, a decorated officer of Ukraine's military intelligence agency, GUR, and Vitalii Zhykovych, who worked for the SBU security service, as main suspects.
"I fought enemy combatants while defending my country," Reut pleaded. "I would never intentionally murder an innocent civilian woman."
