"Actually, in this case suicide of a tortured LGBT person was a good thing and I'm happy about it."
- The people who somehow think they're the good guys and have a great moral compass.
@floofinian I understand that what Jax did was terrible, but I also understand WHY he did it.
If you can't, then you scare me a lot more than I scare you, I assure you. And congrats on the privilege of not having the kind of trauma that makes you emotionally guarded.
@NerdiestNic His "redemption arc" "fails" because he never got the opportunity for one. Explaining why he did what he did wasn't the same as giving him room to and letting him be better.
Would have been more interesting, more entertaining, and more hopeful. Biggest fumble of the series.
@clarascringe Because when I'm reading or writing a story, I use the pronouns of the character in that moment, not something that will come to be and certainly not something that never even comes to the point of knowing what they canonically prefer.
Y'all think too linearly about things.
@AussieNeon It's insane to me how many people in the LGBT community seemingly can not at all comprehend what it's like to be emotionally guarded. They must have had a very privileged existence.
@TekTheNinja Nah, if you made this scene about sex, you would 100% call it coerced.
It's the same thing, she put pressure on him to do something he wasn't ready to do.
@hope_and_what@MinveraBot Also, might sound awful, but IDK if it's people who like to be the center of attention or what, but they seem to have 0 ability to understand what it's like to be emotionally guarded.
Like, congrats that you didn't have the kinds of trauma that make it hard to open up to people.
@hope_and_what@MinveraBot The amount of people that can't see shades or nuance is scary. It's all black or white. There's one villain and one hero, and that's it.
@peninachan Honestly, it seems like every single person that is so deadset on hating Jax, is extremely envoloped in the 'anyone not like people in my super supportive(toxically positive) echochamber is evil'. And probably can't even see their own flaws, it's really weird and messed up.
@peninachan Not only that, but putting her bow on Jax, while well intentioned, pushed him into a place of confronting something he wasn't ready to confront, and was likely the entire reason the blowback was so volatile.
But good luck getting smooth brains to understand that.
