Got a Starbucks latte for the first time in about a year since I didn’t have time to make one this morning, and for just a medium, it was almost 7 bucks… what in the world @Starbucks
@joebowen77 Yeah, all the things listed are simply things that push him further left. Doesn’t mean I feel the same way, like I mentioned with the abortion bill and some of his other stuff, but probably the biggest thing was his botching of the twin city riots.
I don’t know what’s worse, having someone in a position of power abuse the market or having someone in a position of power who is financially illiterate…
@joebowen77 I hear you, and to be clear, when I say late-term, I am not including cases detrimental to the mother’s health. So I think we are essentially on the same page there.
@joebowen77 Setting up of a snitch app to report neighbors covid violations, his recent bill allowing for the state to take custody of a minor if a parent refuses to consent to gender-affirming care, & abortion laws that allow late-term. (Want to be clear, I am pro-choice, but up to a point)
@joebowen77 I personally thought Shapiro was the better pick. I think any central American can get behind free lunches for under privileged kids at school or more parental/sick leave. I’m referring more to his failures after the riots in the twin cities in 2020 (1/2)
@joebowen77 I think he seems like a friendly and nice guy, who has some ideas that can help everyday Americans, but not who I expected Kamala to pick if she wanted a sure victory. Feels like central, middle class voters got left in the dust again.
@joebowen77 Minnesota is upper middle of the pack when it comes to GDP but 44 in actual GDP % growth. Also slightly alarming it’s ranked 43 in “best states to start a business” by Forbes Advisor. I do like paid sick leave that he mandated & should expand that into maternity & parental leave.
@joebowen77 Very true, and yes IVF is rather expensive so definitely agree there. They are probably fine in the way of their personal retirement w/ pensions, but I can’t say it doesn’t worry me that the possible VP pick has no experience at all with investments and market related activity.
@joebowen77 You’re correct, they do have a pension, I am unsure how many. And maybe it is plenty to get them through to retirement, but still seems wild to not have anything in some form of a retirement savings vehicle. This is one where I don’t mind a happy medium. Shows literacy.
