Shooting mechanics should be the main focus of every skills coach/trainer. I’ve seen too many kids shooting knuckleballs or w/ side spin..we have to be better!
@SLAMonline@JasmineLWatkins You can have bad technique and be successful if you do it a million plus times consistently. Most players don’t put in the necessary reps to “perfect” bad form. Good shooting form is a basic foundation needed to give players a better chance of being a more consistent shooter.
@SomeGuy_E@Codeineprometh@JoeyBurton Having a good base and repeatable jumpshot requires learned https://t.co/5FtsmACFsv can find good shooters with horrible mechanics but rare and it’s usually because they shot that hundreds of thousands of times. Most players do not put in the time required to have bad mechanics.
Ive seen numerous college teams lose this year due to their inability to shoot. The common issue? The lack of proper shooting mechanics. One day a HC will hire an assistant that can help players shooting rather than an assistant that can “get players.”
@longshotbball Your so Right Scott that’s why we coming to you because you know your stuff Shooting is so important and undervalued we definitely Not sleeping on this aspect of the game at all.
@atl_boyshoops Add a stationary figure 8 dribble to this drill to learn to find balance and gather into the shot off the bounce, as well. The dribble will create inconsistencies (like in a game) and will work on handle, balance, footwork and flow into a rhythm jump shot. 💪🏼🏀
Reactionary rush to change for the sake of change is not the best course of action.Countless players are the unfortunate victims here resulting in an already tiny window shutting even more. The great month of July for HS hoops is now gone as well the memories and exposure for many
Recruiting is changing. Players, Parents and Coaches need to be aware of what the NCAA has implemented. This post covers the July period where the last 2 live event weekends have been replaced with “Youth Development Camps” .. Stay informed ..
