🚨 BREAKING: Ringleader of a Rochdale grooming gang, Shabir Ahmed, has been released from prison today.

The Pakistani migrant was jailed for 22 years in August 2012 after being found guilty of 30 child rape charges involving girls as young as 12, but released this morning after serving less than 14.

Ahmed was one of the nine men from Rochdale and Oldham who were found guilty of exploiting girls at two takeaway restaurants in the Heywood area of Rochdale.

Due to the Immigration Act 1971, he will not be deported back to Pakistan.

Today a group of Muslims prayed next to the Ministry of Defence, facing the Iraq and Afghanistan memorial.

As I have said before, choosing to pray in this way in public is a political act. It is a social statement and, yes, it is an act of domination.

Anybody who understands Islamism understands that the domination of public spaces is part of the modus operandi. It is done so Islamists can show who is in charge - and to show other Muslims and the wider public that the authorities will bend to their will.

There is quite obviously no need to pray here. The decision to do so is symbolic and pointed.

It is not welcome. We have freedom of religion in this country, which is why there are mosques. But we are not a Muslim country and this is not welcome. It should be stopped.

Congrats to the duplicitous Andy Burnham on making a success of being a landlord ( what would his lefty mates say? ) having bought a 2-bedroomed flat in London 20 years ago , seeing it double in value to £500K and now being rented out for a handy £3K-3.5K.
Where Burnham was fortunate and other landlords weren’t, is that for years the interest on his mortgage was paid through his expenses because he was an MP.
But he took an even bigger advantage by renting out his place in Kennington and instead rented a place nearby and sent the whole bill to the taxpayer.
That’s now illegal but basically he took advantage of an Xs racket in Parliament making him, in my view, unsuitable to be an MP.
He’s a creep and he wants to bring that thought process to Downing Street.
The more you hear of Burnham the more you know the good people of Makerfield won’t be voting for him.

🚨🇬🇧 BREAKING: its been revealed that Andy Burnham snapped up an ex council flat in Kennington for just £215,000 in 2005 while serving as an MP.

He then happily billed taxpayers for the mortgage interest payments because the rules let him get away with it.

That same flat is now worth 480000 to 500000 pounds and he rents it out while insisting the income barely covers his costs and he makes no profit.

Yet this is the same man demanding rent freezes council housing takeovers and lower rents for ordinary people.

Pure hypocrisy from a classic Westminster grifter feathering his own nest on the back of the system he loves to lecture everyone else about.

Nice to hear from you, Andy. Thanks for the by election. We live for such things.
I’m in no doubt life is tough for lots of folk in Makerfield. But it’s hardly a poster child for urban squalor/deprivation.
Thatcher left power in 1990. She was followed by seven years of unThatcher Major and 13 years of Labour government, of which you were a part. So it’s quite a stretch to blame her for any continuing woes. Unless we blame Labour for failing to put anything right.
On the other hand the houses you were walking past were bought by the tenants under Thatcher’s right to buy scheme, which has given them some pride in place and some wealth they once could only have dreamt of accumulating.
I assume your pledge to ‘renationalise housing’ does not include taking these homes back into public ownership ... even if that would constitute a proper, radical reversal of the Thatcherism you’re (some what bizarrely) campaigning against.
