@Anthony_Teach I imagine your class size is smaller and you get more prep lessons too. I went international years ago and would never teach in the UK again.
@humanutopia2021 @Bishop0151 Have you read The Win Hoff Method? He's inspired me to take a cold shower every morning, today is day 3. I'd love to take a dip in the ocean every day but I live in a landlocked country so it's not possible. Keep keeping on!
@Teacherglitter @MrsR_Librarian But, if a child gets the big idea of what's going on, but misses all the smaller details, is it really reading? Isn't it better if we teach them they should understand almost every sentence? If not, they don't get it, so don't enjoy it, and end up not loving reading.
@MrBoothY6@Primary_MissTY6 Unfortunately they were introduced at my school this year. I teach Y6 and they are not successful; waste of time. We should be teaching children to have a love of books, and have a selection of books available that they are excited to read.
@MonteSyrie I love rows! We have desks that seat 2 kids, and they're in arched rows facing the front. So much more beneficial for the kids who are easily distracted, and isn't that most kids??
@bennewmark I hate the argument that grade blah is preparation for Grade blah. No it isn't. Each grade is an experience in itself to be cherished and enjoyed.
