There was never this narrative when Luis Suárez, Riyad Mahrez & N’Golo Kanté won PFA POTY without playing in Europe. None of them played for Manchester United.
Of course Bruno Fernandes deserved the award. His peers voted him to win it. How is that not deserving? Every single one up for grabs went to him, wonder why.
Why should the award go to the title winners? That's quite literally what the title is for. This is for the best, most outstanding player. Not just on the best team.
Is it outstanding if it's only Premier League games.. what kind of argument is that? His goals & assists won his club the 2nd most points any individual ever has.
One of the best aspects of his season was big game performances. He scored at OT vs Chelsea & an assist at OT vs City, assists in wins at Anfield & the Emirates.
People can keep trying to pick holes but he broke what was once thought an unbreakable record. You can't 'spam' that, he created 58 more chances than anyone.
The discourse is beyond disrespectful now, but at the end of the day history will remember Bruno fondly & there's not a single thing any of them can do about it.
Also you lot need to realise this PFA POTY award is voted for BY THE PLAYERS. Like you cannot get a higher indication of you being rated as the best in the country than that. They all categorically voted YOU as the best player. Saying it’s “rigged” or “meaningless” makes 0 sense.
best player voted by the players
best player voted by the league
best player voted by the football writers' association
And then you have viruses within this fanbase hiding behind bart simpson or mbappe avis or still running luhg gimmicks chatting absolute nonsense.
@sneakyshaunny i mean why are we expecting a TEN to “dictate play”? it’s like they have absolutely no tactical nouse whatsoever. That’s a sixes job.
#10s like that is how you end up with frustrating players like Ødegaard who take so little risks it hurts the teams creativity.
@LUHSJR@CharlesDaRipper@LocstaaJ@Culturecams kdb statistically loses possession more often than bruno. you just don’t know that cause it’s a a lazy tradition to assume bruno is the most reckless player ever.
Everyone in the quotes crying about how this looks boring, I’m telling you it doesn’t take a lot to surpass 95% of people when it comes to fitness or anything in general
no transfer business until that inevitable 2-0 loss on opening day against Hull. £150M will thereafter be spent in the last ten days of the window.
a tale as old as time.
Ronaldo will very likely reach 1,000 career goals this season and no matter what you think of it, that’ll be a seismic achievement when it happens.
It’ll be one of the greatest achievements in sports and arguably the greatest in football.
Goalscoring is football’s most difficult skill and for a man to do it 1,000 times will be incredibly legendary.
Such beauty.
