The big reason Katie Zacharia was fired was simply her inability to spin.

See the clip below, where Sean Hannity asks her about failing the bar exam and she just says, “Yes.” He pauses, seemingly waiting for her to spin it, but she doesn’t. She clearly doesn’t know how.

The White House press secretary is not just some neutral relayer of information. It’s a PR role where you’re tasked with explaining, yes, but more importantly, persuasively framing, selling, and packaging the administration’s successes and failures. (The real key is making failures seem like minor successes.)

Poul Thorsen, co-author of the landmark Danish studies used for years as the go-to proof, admitted he ran a multi-year wire fraud scheme and stole more than $1 million in CDC grant money that was supposed to fund Autism and infant disability research.

He forged invoices, diverted the cash to himself, bought a house, cars, and a Harley, then spent over 14 years as a fugitive before being arrested in Germany and extradited. On September 1, 2026, he stood in an Atlanta courtroom and pleaded guilty.

Rogan’s point was simple: the guy they keep citing just got caught stealing the money meant to study the very question.

That should alarm anyone who was told the science was settled. When one of the most-cited names in the “no link” argument turns out to be a convicted thief of the research funds themselves, people have every right to demand a harder look.
