I'm building an app that helps you decide what to eat. Turns out the hardest part is: not getting crushed by Google's API bill.

The app is called WhatToEat.
Core idea: shake your phone, it picks a nearby restaurant for you.

Every engineering decision behind it is balancing "good UX" vs "I don't want to go broke." 😅

Target markets: Taiwan → Hong Kong → Singapore → Japan.

The cat mascot was basically designed for Japan. More on that later.
