I am Mahmoud, the youngest and most beloved baby in my family.

I am lively and intelligent; my family would say that I was loved by anyone who laid eyes on me.
I was too young to understand their words, but my parents would dream about my future a lot; they would imagine what kind of person I would be when I grew up.

When the war began my father wanted to try and keep us safe. We were among some of the first to go to Rafah; but there was no safety the occupations missiles followed us everywhere. The sound was so scary to me, and I would hide between my parents when I heard them. I just wanted to be safe, I couldn’t sleep.

I was not able to celebrate my 3rd birthday on earth with my family but I will celebrate it up here where I am in better place with all the other children who have joined me.

On July 26th the occupation bombed the house where Mahmoud and his family sought for safety. He bled for hours after getting hit by an Israeli missile, and died from his injuries.

An Israeli attack claimed the lives of his wife, Jumana, and their three-day-old babies. Jumana, still in pain from a C-section, was helpless in her final moments.
