Back in the 70s, some high school kids in California called the "Waldos" would meet at 4:20 pm to search for a secret weed stash. They never found it, but "420" became their secret word for smoking. Later, when they hung out with the Grateful Dead (a rock band) the term caught on with their fans. High Times Magazine got the story in the '90s after seeing a flyer at a Grateful Dead concert, and they spread the word everywhere. Now, 420 means it's time to celebrate weed on April 20th and at 4:20 pm. It's all about friends, fighting for legal weed, and enjoying it. 🍁
