It’s because of the people who mistook a sacred place of prayer for an “Instagrammable photo set.”

・Fixtures moved around until they broke
・Tatami mats in the main hall stained with ink
・A white sand garden ruined by footprints

“This is not a theme park.”

Because of people chasing attention without respecting the culture, a temple dedicated to preserving peace and silence was forced to make this painful decision.

The price of treating tradition as nothing more than a “prop for going viral” is far too heavy.

Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto is not a backdrop for social media content. It is sacred ground that has been a place of worship for hundreds of years.
