Creating addition and subtraction equations to show the number of days in school and showing their work on their number charts. I’m so proud of their growth in already showing how they created or solved an equation! #memupton #MURSDthrives

I am so proud of the children who showcased their writing growth today! To see their writings from September to today was simply amazing. “Ooh!” “WOW!”, and giggles could be heard, and proud smiles and pride could be seen. Rounds 2 and 3 tomorrow!! #memupton #MURSDthrives

We are so excited for our Writers Showcase: Our Golden and Magical Celebration! We’re going to celebrate their enormous growth of their writing skills from the beginning of the year to the end. Families, bring your tissues. There will be tears of joy! #memupton #MURSDthrives

We’ve been learning about historical inventors, and how those inventions may have changed, and how the inventions help us today. Then, we created time lines of the inventor they chose. I’m pretty impressed with their collaboration and work. #memupton #MURSDthrives

This week is Student Appreciation Week in our class! Each day has a special theme. Today was “Beach Day”. We learned and collaborated beach side today. The sound of the crashing waves was very relaxing! #memupton #MURSDthrives

What a way to start the week! She’s worked so diligently and completed her ST Math journey! Onto the challenge journey! #memupton #MURSDthrives

[Nancy Lopes @Lopes1stgrade]

What a special treat to start our day! We had our very own author share her story that she wrote and illustrated! We loved how the nurse in the story was named “Mrs. Healer”. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more from this talented author. #memupton #MURSDthrives

[Nancy Lopes @Lopes1stgrade]

Love that one of our Math Talks this week was created by one one of my first graders! ❤️ #memupton #MURSDthrives
