Three Father's Days Without You
It's been three years, Dad,
three long years since you left this world,
yet some days it still feels like yesterday.
Today is Father's Day,
and while others celebrate with calls, hugs, and laughter,
I celebrate you with memories, prayers,
and a heart that still misses you deeply.
The day we laid you to rest,
everyone expected tears from me,
but I stood there frozen, trying to be strong.
I couldn't cry at your burial, Dad.
Not because I didn't love you,
but because the pain was too great for tears.
My heart was carrying a loss so heavy
that my eyes could not express it.
Three years later, I understand that grief is strange.
The tears I couldn't shed that day
have found their way into quiet nights,
unexpected memories, and moments when I wish I could hear your voice one more time.
Three years have passed,
but I still miss your advice, your presence, your love.
I still find myself wishing you were here
to see how life is unfolding for me.
People say time heals all wounds,
but some losses become a part of us.
We learn to live with them,
yet we never truly stop missing the people we love.
So on this Father's Day, Dad,
I send my love to Heaven.
Thank you for every lesson, every sacrifice, every memory.
