This Thanksgiving, let us remember to be thankful for all the gifts the Lord has given us. The word Eucharist in Greek, eucharistia, means “thanksgiving.” I encourage you to go to Mass and receive our Lord with a heart filled with thanks for His sacrifice. God bless you!
All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation and invites us to gather at Mass, receive Jesus in the Eucharist, and ask for the intercession of all the saints in Heaven. May their example inspire us and their prayers strengthen us as we journey toward our heavenly home.
@mattswaim Mine was in the parish I now pastor…so that’s cool. Went face-to-face with a wonderful priest. Felt like I could fly afterward. I remember first confession vividly, while First Communion is not nearly as clear.
Just spent 4 days at a retreat with 80 brothers at the Cloisters of the Platte. God was talking to Joe Rickets when they designed this place. Thank you Cloisters! #amazing
Today we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Matthew the Apostle.
In the Gospel, Christ says "Follow Me." May we all follow Matthew's example and follow our Lord, especially in times of difficulty or uncertainty.
St. Matthew the Apostle, pray for us.
@jdflynn If anything taught me the virtue of fortitude, it was being a grade schooler in Lincoln from 1972 to 1978, when we lost to Oklahoma YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR.
