@GemmaLDillon I really loved your story. I caught it watching my new BBC news tonight, having moved from Lancs to Knaresborough, I am getting used to my new home. This story gave me a real smile, Katie is a star isn't she? A diamond! Cllr Alan Lamb was a local hero, shining a light on Katie!

On this day last year, Liz (never one to seek the spotlight) appeared on BBC Breakfast and Good Morning Britain - our living room had never had so many people crammed inside it. We knew how incredible she was but that day she wowed people with her poise, her ability to look at the world positively and her determination to continue Living to the full despite the fact that she had so little time left.

The highlight of the day for Liz was a trip to @riponcathedral where she met the lovely @KateMansey and got to take photographs of her harvest flowers being arranged. She sat in the same choir stalls to be interviewed that Mateo now stands in as a chorister. We are privileged to visit often and when we do it so easy to see her there taking photographs and being proud of her brother.

Liz had other offers that day but she had prearranged a trip to Alton Towers with her best friends. We headed straight from Ripon to collect Mateo for school before heading there so she could ride rollercoasters and enjoy time with the friends she loved best.

We are so grateful for the memories made that day and the video coverage that means we get to watch her whenever we want even though she is no longer here.

@2ndtimeMama That was when I first "met" Liz, a young woman who was to have such an meaningful impact on my life, I look to "Fifi" on the wall, and a photo of Liz, and smile. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing, because despite her fragility I believed she would beat it! Shine bright Liz
