I don’t give a shit to ‘if Congress was in power, how the budget would be’, I am more concerned with who is ruling now and how the fuck they get to suck my blood to fund the endless schemes and I get ‘punya’.

You remove angel tax and introduce devilish increments elsewhere. This government is so cut off from reality that it believes people who earn 7 lakhs, can survive in tier 2-3 cities, take care of their parents and send their kids to good school.

Well, that doesn’t happen. You can’t control education fees, the cost of books and uniforms and so on!

What exactly is middle class getting? Are your government schools up to any good? Are your government hospitals in small cities not in shitty conditions? You are basically asking everyone to come to metros for good education and health.

Creating AIIMS, IITs and IIMs is great, but are they comparable to the old ones? Do you have the same quality there?

So, please tell me where the hell should these honest taxpayers go? May be we should all collectively buy tractors and march to Delhi, so that one fine day these stupid tax rates, which are not in sync with inflation or spending, are revised.

Boss, you don't have to squeeze the middle class if you widen the base. Here's a low hanging fruit - rich farmers.

Why aren't rich farmers being taxed?

Is it not an open secret that agricultural income is a money laundering scheme for politicians and bureaucrats to convert black money to white?

A former finance minister planted cauliflower in his balcony to claim 'farm income'. Every politician, babu, actor, his driver and maid is an agriculturalist today.

Agricultural income is non-taxable with no upper limit. Why?

Nobody is saying tax small farmers. If you can have slabs for salaried income, have one for agriculture income too. Only rich farmers pay their "fair share" of tax.

Nobody wants to point out the obvious immorality of the system, where the people making up the rules have exempted their own incomes and devised ways of avoiding any scrutiny, while their chamchas are lecturing middle class people who are being squeezed to no end year after year.

Let the corrupt politician and babu pay his "fair share" of taxes, and we will talk about "middle class morality" after that.

Once upon a time, @narendramodi asked people to give up their LPG subsidy. 1.13 crore people, mostly middle class, gave up that subsidy voluntarily. It is not that middle class does not want to help India's growth story. It is not that they don't want India's poor to benefit. It is just that they want to know why can't they get some relief? What have they gotten after 10 years of patience?

And what relief do they want? They don't want the world from you. They just want to live honestly. Their children's school fee increases 10% every year. Their doctor's fees has doubled, even tripled, in last 10 years. Their house rent increases a minimum of 10% every year. Have their salaries increased in the same quantum? Heck, you have added insult to injury by increasing LTCG!

This is a demoralising budget without any imagination. It will percolate through all the sections of society. If you think rural Bharat will be with you, this negativity will affect them too.

I wonder if Modiji comes today and asks people to forego their subsidies voluntarily, would they?
