🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Protesters in Los Angeles just projected an anti-ICE video onto a building.
And it wasn’t just any building.
It was Twin Towers, an ICE-linked detention facility where LASD actively collaborates with ICE for deportation screening.
This is what resistance looks like when people stop pretending everything is normal.
BREAKING: Over 100 priests arrested in Minneapolis for protesting ICE in Minnesota where today it's -21 degrees outside MSP Airport.
The clergy gathered in prayerful solidarity to demand airlines — especially @Delta and Signature Aviation — cease contracting deportation flights to DHS.
So far, over 2,000 deportations have gone through MSP, per organizers.
Breaking News: A general strike is happening in Minnesota today!
People are refusing to go to work.
Schools & businesses are closed.
The Demands: ICE must leave Minnesota, Congress must abolish ICE, and Renee Good’s killer must be arrested.
This is what solidarity looks like!
Stephen Colbert: “Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, held a giant military parade on his birthday, said he wants Canada to be our 51st state, signed an EO ending birthright citizenship, tore down the East Wing of the White House to build a ballroom, covered the remaining parts of the White House in golden geegaws, forced Paramount to make Rush Hour 4, made himself the chair of the Kennedy Center board then renamed it the Trump-Kennedy Center, and personally pocketed over $1.4B. And guess what? You didn’t remember most of that stuff.”
🚨 BREAKING: 7 Democrats just voted with MAGA to increase ICE funding.
Jared Golden
Henry Cuellar
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
Tom Suozzi
Don Davis
Laura Gillen
Vicente Gonzalez
After Minneapolis. After the raids. After U.S. citizens getting dragged out of cars.
They saw the abuse… and voted to write ICE a bigger check.
Liam Ramos is just a baby. He should be at home with his family, not used as bait by ICE and held in a Texas detention center.
I am outraged, and you should be too.
Five stories from just the last 24 hours:
1. Minnesota police chief says ICE has been unconstitutionally stopping & pulling guns on *his own* off-duty officers who are brown/black.
2. The Social Security Administration referred two DOGE employees for Hatch Act violations after discovering contacts with a political group seeking SSA data to overturn election results.
3. Canada struck a historic trade deal with China, declaring them more "predictable" than the U.S., then its PM warned of a rupture with the U.S. and the "end of the rules-based international order."
4. Trump quietly pardoned a slew of more white collar criminals, almost all of whom were convicted of fraud.
5. NYTimes released an editorial documenting how Trump has made $1.4 billion (with a "b") dollars off the presidency in his first year in office -- just on the publicly documented trades and transactions.
That's legitimately 24 hours of news, and it's just scratching the surface.
So we’ve got enough money to give every citizen in Greenland $100,000 cash, but we don’t have enough money to give hungry children in America free lunch at school?
And we’ve got enough money to pay Denmark $750 billion to buy Greenland, but we don’t have enough money to fund USAID which costs 21x less and saves over 3 million lives each year?
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz: "What's happening in Minnesota right now defies belief. News reports simply don't do justice to the level of chaos and disruption and trauma the federal government is raining down upon our communities. They're pulling over people indiscriminately, including US citizens, and demanding to see their papers. At grocery stores, at bus stops, even at our schools, they're breaking windows, dragging pregnant women down the street, just plain grabbing Minnesotans and shoving them into unmarked vans. Kidnapping innocent people with no warning and no due process. Let's be very, very clear. This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement. Instead, it's a campaign of organized brutality against the people of Minnesota by our own federal government. This week, he went online to promise that 'the day of retribution and reckoning is coming.' That's a direct threat against the people of this state who dared to vote against him three times and who continue to stand up for freedom with courage and empathy and profound grace."
AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece and we are robbing people of their food assistance and of their healthcare to pay for it. How is this even on the floor? How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"
Welch: "This has nothing to do with the shutdown. The law requires and the funds are available to continue SNAP right now without any interruption. So that is a decision the president is making on his own to allow people to go hungry."
During the shutdown, Trump could find $40 billion to bail out Argentina & $300 million for a ballroom to host dinner parties with billionaires, but he won’t tap emergency funds to prevent millions of American kids from going hungry?
How cruel is that?
