What people don’t realize is that Golden Scenery of Tomorrow pulled in a lot of non-fans and casual viewers not just because of the strong casting, acting, execution, and writing and directing. It also worked because it’s highly relatable to Filipinos—high school friendships, childhood best friends to lovers, the dynamic of a showbiz boyfriend and a non-showbiz girlfriend. On top of that, the loveteam culture in this series that something Filipinos are deeply invested in.

That mix of familiarity and authenticity is also what made people tuned it.
