We want social procurement that works for the citizens!
✊channel public funds towards socially responsible, green and innovative products and services
✊every euro spent on public procurement must contribute to creating quality jobs in Europe, strengthening our social model
✊tax payer money must support fair jobs, green innovation and resilience
We expect the 🇪🇺Commission to take this on board in the upcoming update of the Public Procurement Directives – and to deliver for millions of workers across Europe who deserve fair pay and decent work.
Trade unions take the streets today outside the @AudiOfficial factory in #Brussels
Audi management should get back to the negotiating table & agree a social plan. We stand in full solidarity with the workers in Forest & all other automotive sites in Europe. We urgently need a European plan that puts workers at its heart and ensures that we don’t lose industrial capacity. We are marching today against deindustrialisation. And for good industrial jobs. @Jude_KD
Today is International Migrants Day
On this occasion, we reiterate our call for a more human and solidarity-based approach towards migrants.
Europe needs policies for integration and inclusion of migrants in society and the world of work, not "Fortress Europe" solutions.
🔴The European Parliament has voted to start negotiations on a stronger European Works Councils directive
Despite opposition from the far right, workers in multinationals companies are another step closer to finally having their voices heard at work

The right to strike is a fundamental right.
However, it is under threat across Europe - by the right-wing gov't in Finland, by multinationals such as Tesla & Amazon, to name just a few recent examples.
To safeguard our social Europe, we must also defend the right to strike.
Millions of workers suffer from inequality, discrimination, and exploitation through long & complex chains of subcontracting.
The EU can and must tackle this exploitative business model to protect workers and responsible employers confronted w/ unfair competition.

Full solidarity with Belgian workers demonstrating today in Brussels to stop austerity plans being drawn up by their future government.
Fighting all together against austerity in Belgium and everywhere in Europe

The ETUC is calling on the @EU_Commission to investigate this breach of human rights commitments under the EU-Türkiye association agreement

"We need the mechanisms to ensure that our hard-won working conditions are upheld." - Claes-Mikael Stähl.

Congratulations to @NicolasSchmitEU for receiving the Lifetime Achievement at the #SilverRoseAwards2024. As our Common Candidate in #EUelections2024 he was a beacon of social justice, championing workers' rights and equitable policies. 🌹 His legacy inspires us all!
Hundreds of trade unionists gathered in Luxembourg to defend their collective bargaining system as their government is trying to use the EU minimum wage directive to undermine trade union prerogatives and and well-functioning collective bargaining system.
We stand with them.
We fight with them.
@TeaJarc
Luxembourg’s government is attacking the rights of the trade unions.
I’ve joined the first action of the @OGBL_Luxembourg and the @LCGB_Luxembourg in the fight for collective bargaining and for the prerogative of the trade unions. ✊@etuc_ces
Spain: 60,000 people who work for delivery platform Glovo reclassified as workers thanks to strong government legislation.
That means respect of their workers rights to sick leave, holiday pay & collective bargaining.
If it can be done in Spain, it can be done throughout 🇪🇺
"Trade unions equalise the playing field and we are the counter weight to the voices of the powerful."
@EstherLynchs spoke at #UnioKongress24 in Norway this morning.
Building workers' power is crucial to counter attacks on democracy.
