No other high income country experiences gun violence at the rate we do. It's not random or inevitable that more than 110 people are shot and killed every day in America. Our gun violence crisis is a preventable policy failure.
Gun violence continues to rage on in almost every corner of America and this weekend was no different. These are just some of the communities that were devastated by gun violence this weekend. 🧵
Today, we recovered 296 firearms at our gun buyback event in Utica, including 177 ghost guns.
My office is proud to get these weapons off our streets and out of our communities as we continue to tackle gun violence in New York.
The survey, based on more than 2,700 responses, also found that 69% of respondents support community-based #gunviolenceprevention programs and 60% support hospital-based programs to address gun violence.
