A lot of people are retweeting this as a "gotcha" for @anncoulter. They are missing the point. She knows Trump's mother was born in Scotland. For her audience, however, a white woman immigrating here from a predominantly white European country is not an immigrant. That term is reserved for brown people. One awful trend over the last ten years of our national politics is that the dog whistles used by racists like Coulter are becoming much less subtle. Let us never become numb to them.
