Yesterday Dr. Bonnie Henry announced no more school exposure notices because they're "anxiety provoking."

Today she said BC won't use rapid tests because they're inaccurate, despite their proven worldwide success.

@pattibacchus I agree too. Why is it taking months for gov't to act- and only acts when pressured by public? Schools went into a pandemic last year, and teachers, parents had to BEG for mask mandate- it tooks MONTHS for it to happen. Enough with mollycoddling!!

@BCschoolCovid It truly is incredible....my school had many exposures..K-gr 3 wore masks just fine. For those who found it difficult, teachers taught them. My school strongly encouraged mask wearing...very glad for that.

@BCschoolCovid I can tell you about waves...when it the first wave happened, 6 of my colleagues were sick with COVID and my school (mostly) shut down for 2 weeks...and we were all terrified....that was the first wave....perhaps if Dr. B came to schools, she would 'see' it

@cbcnewsbc oh great....you just know there will no mask mandate for kids in Sept. There was no mask mandate even when teachers had not been vaccinated for kids under grade 4.... sigh...glad to be double vaxxed but worry about the younger kids

@tamalama67 I read an article (will post link if I can find it), that many long haulers are having difficulties with their health care insurance as they don't have a + covid test. They were told to self-isolate, not get tested but obviously had caught the virus - incredibly sad.

@BCschoolCovid It really is unbelievable- my HS DD in VSB had very small numbers in her classes. I am most thankful, however I work in FH at a school at full capacity where COVID did go through our school.
