VFAF recognizes these four patriots for their steadfast service and leadership during this election cycle.

These grassroots MAGA leaders did not back down in the face of lawfare, personal attacks, and media hit pieces—many of which were coordinated by candidates running against those VFAF endorsed.

These four heroes put the country, the candidates, and VFAF first. They refused to degrade themselves by responding to the attacks and instead stayed focused on supporting the endorsed candidates through multiple victories in yesterday’s primary.

They accepted this assignment while VFAF National was dealing with an unauthorized chapter in North Carolina led by Butch Conz, at a time when National leadership was tied up in Georgia court. Almost immediately, the team received legal notices—and they did not back down.

In December 2025, the Georgia court in L-Strategies, LLC v. Edward Conz, Jr., a/k/a Butch Conz (Civil Action File No. 2024-CV-0334) ruled on L-Strategies’ motion for willful contempt and issued sanctions, including a permanent injunction related to the operation of entities using the Veterans for America First / VFAF name. More recently, Conz lost his appeal by withdrawal.

While we will not comment in detail on open legal matters- Laurie Fowler was served with litigation by a candidate she issued a VFAF endorsement against; Stacey Davis encountered a legal situation immediately after joining VFAF; and David Draper was repeatedly and publicly attacked by a candidate he endorsed against.

Most Americans who vote only see election-cycle headlines. Americans involved in local GOP politics may see some of the ugliness. Those of us working nationally see it constantly.

This is the ugliness of American politics. There is no accountability for lawfare—no accountability for the false allegations, the harassment, and what it puts people and their families through.

Women with children face harassment, mailed threatening letters are sent, and fake news is published, it's just another day in politics but it takes a toll on reputations and well-being. The least our organization can do is publicly thank these four for taking the hits and seeing the battle through to victory.

Going forward, Draper and Shiver will be departing to focus on county GOP politics. Laurie Fowler will lead, under the direction of National, advancing the chapter as Operations Director, alongside Stacey Davis. We will expand the team before the next election cycle to include several veterans and grassroots leaders across the state.
