I’m not passing on a post. This is me. I’m furious. 😡
I worked. They took NI off my wages before I ever saw it. My employer paid in too. For years. That was not a favour. That was money ripped out of work I actually did, on the promise it would be there when I was old.
People paid the same and dropped dead before they collected a penny. That money didn’t vanish. The government spent it. Then they have the cheek to look at the rest of us like we’re scroungers for wanting it back.
They never put their own money in. Not a pound. They took ours, blew it, and when it was our turn they changed the word. “Entitlement.” As if I crawled in begging.
Then they moved the line. Retirement age up. Then up again. Work till you drop. Wait till you’re worn out. Hope you live long enough to see what you already paid for. That’s the con, empty the pot, shove the age back, and let more of us die waiting.
And some of the young ones sneer. Talk as if we stole their lives. As if we sat on our backsides. We paid in when the deal was 60 or 65. We didn’t invent this mess. We grafted and now we’re the villains while they raise the age and spend the money elsewhere! 😤
It was never locked away with my name on it. I know that. They used it like a slush fund and expected us to swallow it.
Look at them. Fat packages. Weeks off. Sick pay. Sorted. Then look at pensioners on a fixed state pension, counting every coin, filling in bloody forms, being told there’s nothing left.
Veterans. People who built this country. Our own. Treated like an inconvenience.
Meanwhile the spongers sit on it fit to work, won’t work, know every loophole, take and take while the rest of us paid in. And still they find money. Hotels. Benefits. Lawyers. Welcome packs for boat after boat coming over. People who never paid a day’s NI here. Never put a pound into the pot I funded for decades.
Don’t tell me we can’t afford our own. Don’t tell me the cupboard is bare for the ones who worked, then fling it open for spongers and arrivals who contributed nothing. Don’t push the retirement age up on people who already paid, then let kids be told we’re the ones draining the country.
Billions abroad. Billions here on people who put nothing in. And the ones who paid get lectured, delayed, and spat on.
Now they want to tax it as well. Take it off you on the way in, spend it, make you wait longer, call it an entitlement then tax what’s left when you finally get it. Steal it twice. Three times if you count the years they added to the retirement age.
Don’t call my pension charity. Don’t call it welfare. Don’t preach at me about kindness while you rob the people who funded the lot.
I paid it. In work. In tax. In years I don’t get back.
They spent what was meant for later on spongers, on foreign aid, on boatloads who never paid in, then shoved retirement further away, told the young to blame us, and now they’re coming back for another cut.
It is my money! I earned it! 🤬

Portsmouth, UK: Going through the courts right now is a case of an Iraqi man who has been charged with raping a 14 year old boy + stalking offences.

Last night the first boat arrived there. Locals & beyond reacted with fury & desperation.

The illegal migrants were met with welcome packs. The British citizens were met with riot police; batons, shields and force.

Among those present last night, I saw the sister of Rhiannon Skye Whyte, a vicar, mums/dads and even a gran in a kayak.

Much of the media, many politicians & multiple commentators are falling over themselves today desperate to label these people “racist”, “far-right”, “thugs” etc.

The people who attended last night are desperate. They are angry, frightened and at their wits end. They feel betrayed by the government(s), they want this to immediately stop. They’ve tried the democratic way & it’s failed.

To all of you criticising….As you sit, in your comfortable chairs pointing and name-calling, while declaring “refugees are welcome here”, ask yourself this….How comfortable would you be if hundreds of these men ended up on your street, in HMOs next door to you, or if your child was raped by one, or if your child had to accommodate a grown man in their classroom pretending to be a child etc?

I could weep when I see what’s happening and what politicians have done to this country. The victims in all of this, as usual, will be the working class, the ones most impacted by all of this. They are rising because it’s the only thing they have left to do, because everything else has failed.

And to the politicians criticising, I say directly to them - how dare you. You have done this. You. You are eroding this country inch by inch, while getting the very same British people who have repeatedly voted against it, to pay for it.

I personally worry where it will all end…

My friend is 83 years old and lives in the west of England.

Worked for most of her life.

Never taken a penny from the state.

She wants to see her GP. Nothing major she told me but she has found herself fainting from time to time and at 83 years old, it is better to check what is happening.

At 8am she called the surgery.

Got a voice recording that says to call back at 9am.

9am-9.30am she keeps trying to call but it is engaged.

Eventually she gets through to someone and she explains she wants an appointment.

“You can use our website to book” the receptionist unhelpfully says.

My friend is 83 years old. She does not want to set up an account, wait for the security code to com through and then wrestle with the booking process.

“Is it an emergency?” The receptionist asks.

“No, I have just fainted a few times and I am a bit worried about driving in case it happens then.”

“Well, in that case, I have an appointment available with Dr X in 2 weeks or you can see him by Zoom in 3 days.”

My friend is mystified by Zoom. She does not want to see a doctor on a video call. And I doubt she could even set it up and I am not around to help this week.

So she had to settle for 2 weeks to see a doctor. She could have said that it was urgent but she comes from a generation where “emergency” means exactly that and so she accepted the appointment.

I think that this is appalling. Then I looked it up. 17% of patients wait for 2 weeks or more for an appointment. 5% wait for 4 weeks or more. It is often worse in locations where there are more elderly.

This is only going to get worse.

I am married with a young daughter, both myself and my husband work.

-We are not entitled to housing benefit, or any other benefit for that matter.

-We do not get free eye tests, free dental care or free prescriptions.

-Our daughter is not entitled to free school meals, or free breakfast clubs, or free wrap around care, no help with her uniform.

-We don’t get council tax discount, or any other discount.

-We don’t get help with our energy bills, or low cost broadband.

-We don’t get help with the cost of going to the cinema, or days out at theme parks.

-My daughter is unable to play outside unsupervised, because you have failed to secure our borders and the streets aren’t safe.

-If I work more hours, I fall into the higher tax band.

I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.

@KirstieMAllsopp I have moved a lot and by far the most stressful was when exchanged and completed on same day,would never ever do it again.
You still have to arrange removals and cancel utilities for that day knowing it could still fall through.Horrific experience
