Today, as many celebrate the Fourth of July, I’m reflecting on the freedoms we all share, the freedom to love, to grow, to choose kindness, and to honor what makes us beautifully human. Wishing you a day filled with peace, gratitude, connection, and joy. Happy Fourth of July to all who celebrate.
In the morning, early.
The smell of fresh cut grass.
Birds are singing in the tree outside my window.
The sun is peeking through the curtains.
Monday opened its eyes onto another week.
And here I AM loving it.
Living it in full color and sound.
@all_poetry The way raindrops ripple the water
The splashes that create mini ripples
Dimpling the surface water to the edges
The boots that create a tsunami of splashes
Someday
I will watch the red sun
rise from the windows
of Jodhpur Fort
overlooking
the blue houses
when the air is still cool
and
the rattle of Tuk-tuk drivers
have not yet taken to the streets

@GreggBraden I am grateful to more than I can list. This post. Friendly dogs and their people's friendly chats. The winter sunny day. Breath. Sky. Birds singing. The Godness in humanity. The beauty that surrounds us. The beauty I see. The beauty that sees us. 🙏 ❤️ 💖
the dock had shifted overnight
one plank slouched lower than the rest
lake water slid through the gap
claiming the wood like an old debt
we didn’t mention the cold

Sometimes the best way to love someone, and the most help you can give, is to leave them alone or empower them to help themselves. It is like a feast, and you can give them a big helping of themselves.
Trillions of uninhabited planets
immeasurable dark space between
yet here on the lawn
two spruce trees and a birch
birds singing non-stop
How can I not ask why?
Some say accident, others
benevolent design
There is a scent of grass
that holds the answer
a whisper in the wind
