I am sure I am not the only person, immersed in the world of self-employment, who struggles to justify taking time off for myself, when I know that also means taking time off from my clients. I worry about what emergencies they might have while I am away…https://t.co/mFK3VefU18
Texas country legend Willie Nelson will perform at an event Sunday for Democrat Beto O'Rourke in Austin. It's billed as the "Vote 'Em Out" rally in O'Rourke's effort to deny Republican Gov. Greg Abbott a third term in the Nov. 8 election.

@RepStickland@BetoORourke Well... I suppose if you want to believe that blatant lie that Abbot spewed -- and if you didn't listen to @BetoORourke follow up. Beto said he supported the Roe v Wade structure which limits abortion to 22 weeks, unless for the health of the mother.
@RepStickland@BetoORourke It's like you didn't even watch the debate - and you definitely aren't seeing the abundance of support for Beto across the board as a result. Are you even looking at the #TXGovDebate feed?
@_davidg_81 I fact checked him on this. A Dallas district prgrm rewards teachers based mostly on state test results. They averaged near 20 yrs experience & took extra stipend-paying duties. Slim chance of a teacher at a low income ESL school ever getting this kind of pay.
@GregAbbott_TX #1 in Blue Ribbon schools? That's only 31 schools in the whole state. Saying #1 for that one thing keeps you from acknowledging that we rank 46th in the nation for HS graduation rates, 26th in the percentage of Txns with a college degree & 37th in education overall.
@GregAbbott_TX You act like all these #1s are huge accomplishments. Most don't even know what a blue ribbon school or a Tier 1 Research University is. Only 31 out of 9,559 TX Schools are blue ribbon. Not a huge bragging point & only an elitist would care about the Tier 1 research designation.
@GregAbbott_TX During the debate you said the governor's office wasn't in charge of raising or cutting property taxes --- yet during your summary you suddenly CAN? Hmmmm....
@ClaytonTuckerTX Should have been a yes or no answer. Lot of finger pointing and excuses, but still never a direct answer. Someone with integrity would have said, "I probably could have done better. But, I do want to at least point out...."
@Heather_Two_A @PunSoup @Joannafersulli In the debate, Beto said he simply wants to go back to what was consitutionally allowed up until this year - which was 22 weeks, I believe.
@Jenny47457371 @FloresJohnD
I don't believe it was taken out of context. I have been trying to find a clip of the video, because I actually do remember him stating something about him making decisions based on his principles. His "principles" are not universally accepted among all Texans.
@scottbraddock Conflict avoidant, much, Abbott? Of course #Uvalde wants him to be held accountable. I'm sure he didn't want to look them in the eye and try to explain why he doesn't care about the lives of children. (Unless they're still in the womb, of course.) Coward.

@nkokesh@vandalsofyouth@MSNBC From a Texas woman who wants to get out from under Abbot's oppressive government, please donate to Beto's campaign if you can. Even $10 will help. We have got to get him in office. I promise I don't work for his campaign. I'm just a woman who is scared.
