Any hauliers out there still facing issues with the P&O scandal? How has this affected time sensitive goods, driver cover, drivers hours etc.?

It does beg the question, however, that if 5ppl costs your average haulier £1,500 per year, how much extra are hauliers paying now than they were 12 months ago? How is this sustainable?

The Spring Statement highlight for the haulage sector is the reduction in fuel duty by 5 pence per litre. It’s the biggest cut to all fuel duty rates ever and is estimated to save the “average haulier” (what’s that?) £1,500 this next year. This was lobbied by @LogisticsUKNews

@JoseyWales_0 It is so difficult as there are good road safety reasons for the cameras but set this against the reality of being the driver under that level of scrutiny and most drivers simply cannot stand it (I certainly do not think I could!)

NEW: the maximum period of grace a Traffic Commissioner may give an operator to demonstrate financial standing, following an adverse finding has been extended from 6 months to 12 months. This only applies to adverse findings made between 1 March 2020 and 30 September 2020.
