media showcase: the reason they’re revealing the ‘thorns’ they had been hiding

🐿️ before preparing this album, we talked with the production team about what’s been on our minds lately, and our past 7 years came to mind. we thought about what the most honest story we could tell at this point in time would be and this album came to us

🐧 in the past, we would think within a set theme and direction, but this time, weren’t we involved from the very beginning? it felt refreshing to create something out of nothing

🧸 looking back on our past activities, there were many joyful moments, but there was also anxiety and worry. we tried to honestly capture those emotions in the album

as to why ‘anxiety’ was chosen as the main theme:

🦊 of course, the contract renewal went well and we’re now in our 8th year since debut, but the process wasn’t as glamorous as one might think. personally, i had a desire to climb even higher. i thought this was something anyone could relate to.

🐿️ before our debut, i only had my eyes set on debuting. i thought that once we debuted, we’d immediately become global stars, but there was a huge gap between reality and that ideal. of course, those experiences made me grow, but i thought those worries that couldn’t be shown on the outside would resonate with people

🧸 i think that with anything you do consistently for 7 to 8 years, there will naturally be worries that arise. thoughts like ‘what more can i do?’ or ‘is this the right path?’ i think these are concerns not just for us, but for everyone. we tried to weave our own narrative into these universal emotions

🐰 even before the filming, i had heard that the actress (jeon jongseo) was quite shy. she really couldn’t make eye contact and seemed bashful before the filming but as soon as the shoot started, she suddenly transformed into an affection lover and started acting. i thought to myself, “this is what a real actor is, huh?”

🐧 the action scenes are what stand out most in my memory. i got a lot of praise for the scenes where i was getting hit, but i wasn’t good at the scenes where i had to throw the punches so my form was off. (*making the audience laugh*) in the end, a lot of the scenes where i’m getting hit made it into the music video, while the scenes where i was doing the hitting were edited out.

🐰 i’d heard from many people that coordinating opinions among the members is harder than coordinating with the company but for us, it was settled within an hour. we also reached an agreement with the company relatively early. apparently, cases like ours are quite rare. the members went along with everything so well and that’s what led to a good outcome.

🐿️ it took less than an hour to align with the members. we all had a strong desire to continue as a team and wanted to be with our fans, so the feeling was “we’re doing this, right?” “of course we are!” we thought letting the fans know quickly would give them peace of mind so soobin hyung made the announcement in a really cool way.

🐿️ i went to rm sunbaenim for advice and he went through old files one by one and spoke to me with such care. he told me we’d worked hard for 7 years and that was really reassuring to hear.

🦊 while preparing this album, and after releasing my solo mini album ‘no labels: part 01,’ i experienced a fairly intense burnout. it was a period where i found myself reflecting deeply on both myself and the team. through that time, i’ve been getting to know myself, and i’m still in that process even now. it was a time where i was able to grow as a human being and as an artist. if you ask me what i’d want at the end of all that reflection: it’s this team. i hope tomorrow x together stays together for as long as possible.

official explanation of the ‘stick with you’ music video:

“the music video centers on the psychology of a man who fears his lover will leave him, with the five members following their lover with anxious eyes as she leaves the house, adding to the tension. at the end of their gaze, the lover spends time with a stranger, smiling happily and the members’ portrayal of restless emotions as they watch heightens the sense of immersion. the anxiety gradually escalates to an extreme. however, the mood shifts the moment they realize that the person by their lover’s side is none other than themselves. it ultimately shows that what had been shaking them was not an external situation but inner anxiety. the premise of five members expressing one single character adds a unique touch of fun.”
