She snapped into a decision to throw all caution into the wind and launched herself forward with a force that almost gave her a concussion. The valley was illuminated by the large moon but it was still just a moon.

There was no geometrical pattern to the way she searched the forest. She would check one spot and then look around and decide on the next spot to check. Oliver thought she was picking the most likely positions for ambush and working her way down to the most unlikely.

“It doesn’t matter what they’re saying. They are armed and sneaking up in the dead of the night in order to kill me. This is a declaration of war in the best of circumstances.”
He was prepared to do whatever it took in order to survive.

The rain started and stopped and a while after that, the ground started to rumble. Outside, the last of the snow melted away even before the rain started and the enormous moon appeared on the clear sky. The valley was safe and serene once again.

The cold never bothered Bob before but after a day of listening to his display howl and watching the dancing glyphs stiffen, he could swear he felt the tips of his tentacles starting to shiver. He surprised himself by the amount of empathy he felt for his pets.

Dark, stormy clouds formed on the sky seemingly out of nothing and blocked out most of the sunlight.
"What is this?" She asked as she was watching a snowflake being violently carried by the skin-lashing wind.
"Snow." John and Oliver answered in unison.

The noise reached its peak and then stopped. The egg fell from the air onto the ground and a violent gust of wind and energy threw Taarna and John back with such force that it knocked them both out before they touched the ground. At this point, the egg cracked.

Only a few things can help you escape the heat successfully as good as a hole in the ground. Xhuxh closed his eyes and drifted away without a hint of anxiety about the whole thing. Even his dreams were pleasant.

Taarna stopped her work for a moment and searched her memories. She shuddered with terror before speaking calmly:
"Nothing good ever came from interrupting a spell. They exist to finish one task and they violently defend against anyone who tries to stop them."
