Why chief minister C Joseph Vijay chose the MAWS department which no CM in the past had held?

Sources part of recent meetings said the CM informed he was passionate about civic governance personally and wanted to bring a change in that, resulting in him taking the MAWS dept for himself. He said civic issues were the most connected to people on a daily basis and hence, he wanted direct attention on that. Further, he had also told that being brought up in Chennai, he had a vision to see Cooum, Buckingham Canal and Adyar River cleaned fully. He had informed officials to ensure there was no bribery in any of the lower most levels too, in any small local body, and gave officials a free power to transfer or take action on officials who may cause irregularities at any level.

Life update:

Lost exactly 30 kg in 4 months. Still a long way to go though.

Went from a full bottle of whiskey/gin and a pack of cigarettes every day to zero.

Gym, meditation, and 10k steps a day are just part of the routine now.

Funnily enough, I don’t even crave alcohol or cigarettes anymore.

Couldn’t have done it without @anjalika_dr 🙏🙏
