I think you're oversimplifying it. The mother is saying she's not worth wasting time on if she doesn't feel like spending time on you. People have this thing called emotions and yes, even ✨men✨ have them. You're trying to make this into something it's not. Women want to know the man in interested, and men want women to be honest. It's only harassment if she blocks him and he still tries talking to her. Plus, this image you're responding to is the mother and son talking. Where is the 'harassment'?

Asking if it's the first time is important, but if they're a submissive type of person then it should be okay the second time. That said, if they're uncomfortable after, respect it. I think this is terrible advice in my opinion... Be HONEST with the partner but be respectful when doing so. If they waste their time on the wrong thing then eventually the person will either pick up on it or the s/o will be disappointed they didn't realise it on their own. This is how a lot of relationships fall apart.

A strong relationship needs trust and honesty. White lies might seem okay but it's a slippery slope. The more the partner knows about what you like, the easier it is to build a bond. You don't want to build a relationship based on lies.
