Pope Leo XIV addressing the Sacred College of Cardinals this evening:
“It seems to me that the question of synodality is not primarily: "Who has the power to decide?" The question is more profound: "How do we together safeguard the gift that the Lord has entrusted to his Church?" When this question becomes the center of our discernment, the issues of authority, co-responsibility, and decision-making also find their proper place, illuminated by the mission and shared fidelity to the Gospel.”
Not sure about the FSU, but this law would be utterly appalling for family and faith life, so I've signed the Free Speech Union's petition against the Government's conversion therapy ban. Add your name: https://t.co/5rieDSpKaE
@NCRonline To clarify "restoring" is nonsense, there never was such a thing, equivalent to the diaconate as understood by the Latin church as a grade in holy orders, conferred on women.
Well yes. There’s fresh air or a cool breeze (good) and there’s a cold draught or chemically recycled cold air (bad). In this European instincts are far superior to American ones.
I don’t know if you realize this, but many French (and other Europeans) have a superstitious belief that cold, even artificial cold, causes disease. It’s the damnedest thing. I’ve been in Paris in winter and observed French reacting to a draft as if it were the Angel of Death.
Actually hard to believe that a company with a guaranteed income of £3.8 billion a year, can't afford to do its job (which is not to make Killing Eve etc etc, but to be a useful and culturally enriching media producer).
Look what's arrived, so thrilled to see this! Wonderful hardback edition from Faber & Faber who have done a magnificent job with the cover. The People's Emperor is available to pre-order now and out on 2 July.
Just make smartphones illegal for children U16 & legally ban them schools & other institutions catering for children. The Labour Party won't do this because their true motive is digital ID & regulating adult social media use.
@AllisonPearson@sophielouisecc If a kid was caught with a packet of cigarettes, drugs, a knife, they would have them confiscated. If the parents had bought them for the child, they would face serious consequences. Do the same with smartphones. After that, regulate social media companies, not their users.
Even more new sermons by St Augustine found (after Dolbeau's 1990 Mainz find and 2008 discoveries in Erfurt) in a Polish monastery. Quite astonishing news. https://t.co/KbgVtoLm7b
@JMJCircello@LepantoInst The Holy See is entitled to say who can be consecrated a bishop. It’s not an ultimatum, it’s Church discipline. If (big if) the Society seriously want to discuss and receive the answers to their questions they aren’t entitled to hold the Pope to ransom in the meantime.
@Remington19Paul@LepantoInst When they start to consecrate their own bishops, sure. In the meanwhile normal procedures to deal with their nonsense suffice.
@OTSOTA@LepantoInst@sspx@Pontifex We've know each other for many years, so I do respect what you say. However, there is no doubt that the Society owes obedience to the Pope and accusing him of lying is pretty serious for any Catholic. (If the dialogue is *doctrinal*, Frenandez - for good or ill - is the man.)
I'm currently rewatching Smallville (one has to rewatch old programmes because the new ones are mostly crap). Imagine anything written now expecting to drop this kind of "easter-egg" and for people to be able to recognise it.
