One of the worst experiences in my life was trying to go to sleep as an alcoholic. That's another thing that convinced me to go to a recovery center. After that, my sleep was fine!! Sleep like a dam rock now lol
It makes going to bed super miserable. It makes it easy to pass out at first, but then you get so used to it and tolerance builds. Then it doesn't knock you out anymore. At that point you're hardly drunk enough, sweating, cold sweats, can't sleep, drinking more doesn't help, 🔁
I mean cause it's a very heavy topic ofc, but you must realize that this is a disguised "fun" bandaid on a nasty wound, but then it's like putting a used bandaid on your wound. It's gonna make it worse til you get help finding a clean bandaid.. if that makes sense.
Alcohol addiction humbles you fr. It's so dirty and evil. You can feel your spirit leave you for the drink. But the ultimate question is why? Why do you do this to yourself? I've noticed not a lot of AA/recovery people ask that question.
