Yesterday I was *criticised* by my boss @SaigonDamien for being "low tech for old things" (which I took as a compliment). Today, upon seeing these, this girl asked me why there there're so many microwave ovens. 🤦♀️

The kid had "mận" fruit at school. I told her that in "Hanoian language" it'd be called "roi". Then she asked what it's called in Korean(!) I said I only know 3 "languages", Saigonese, Hanoian, and English. She asked "what is it in English then?"
And that's how I failed a 3yo.
If my husband and I argue, our #3yo will ask who's the one being scolded (usually it's the husband, of course), and give that person one of her toys so that we don't feel sad. If that's not compassion, I don't know what is.

Just when I was silently praising myself for getting 2yo in bed on time, she had a paper cut from her storybook and spent an hour and a half crying over this trauma.
Do other parents also only half-assedly stop their kids from eating boogers because they'd rather the kids eating them than catapulting them to God-knows-where? No? Just me?
Never had I known parenting would involve me taking an imaginary cat (the pink one not the purple one) for my toddler so that she could climb the stairs.
Today my 2yo had a tantrum because she wanted to go to the park, when we were actually preparing to go to the park. Sometimes you can never win with the little humans.
@SaigonDamien As a northerner I'm not a fan haha. If you ever wanna try northern style phở then Phở Đnh 3 on Nguyễn Cao st in Phú Mỹ Hưng is an excellent place. And true northern phở always has crispy quẩy.
