holy week in fragments ๐ผ๏ธ the burden of names, the silence of mothers, the fall of men, the myth of return, the color of bruises, chino moreno whispering in my ear
first two for #womenintranslation month ๐
finished adania shibli tonight, what a devastating read.
(slowly) reading 2-3 stories from mariana enriquez a night ! (cos i just have to consume horror anytime possible.. every day)
other ppl: i miss you i love you
me to my love: i just imagined you passing away. i see myself living in your room for months, years, until your sheets and pillows, your clothes in the wardrobe, and every where i tried to love you run out of your scent
i dislike it when i read a โcrazy girlโ book and sheโs just written as some comical caricature. sheโs just crazy for no reason, doing all these crazy girl things like haha look at me im so crazy and quirky and a girlboss who eats boys for bfast
itโs sooooo lazy and cringe
a lot of these gothic classics, which were btw written by women, were published at a time where female lust, desire, or anything sexual were considered unchaste. it is lot more nuanced than the genre just being ab one specific thing
itโs insane how many time iโve read gothic classics and been like โoh this is about rape/sexual assaultโ and then all the academia is like itโs about LUST and DESIRE
3rd szabo coming in my mail.. but not for a few weeks cos the person i bought it from lives on the other side of the earth ๐ญ
now as much as i would like to scour the globe to find used copies of the rest of her works, iโm also a v impatient woman iโll have to read them on ebook
iโm hideo kojima for real cos i will post my thoughts on every read , every listen , every film i shall ever see , etc . i have thoughts on every thing sry. i loved writing reflection papers in uni ๐ญ
read the lost french classic, L'astragale by albertine sarazzin.. i'm now onto my last ebook for the month which is 'picnic at hanging rock'. i'm tired of being controlled by the calendar i'm starting the halloween season in july ! ๐
i love being in love as much as i secretly love being bereft (not specifically romantically). in both i find a Muse beyond myself . the Muse being both love and grief (conjoined twins holding the same body)
