I am. amazed that someone with serious resources has not put the Government in the High Court over their contravention of the Food Safety Act. Folic Acid is a man made substance that will cause harm because of the cumulative build up because of the widespread use of fortified flour. This toxic chemical should not be confused with naturally occurring folate.

Landfill is becoming the default graveyard for the fading renewable-energy green dream.

Millions of solar panels are already hitting their end-of-life cycle, and the world is completely unprepared for the toxic avalanche due in 2030. By 2050, the International Renewable Energy Agency says it will get much worse, with more than 200 million tonnes of cumulative solar panel waste globally. Plus, there will be additional tens of millions of tonnes of decommissioned wind turbine components. Turbine blades are virtually indestructible.

The industry has claimed solar panels and turbines were ‘95% recyclable’. Technically, they are—because they are made of glass, aluminium, and copper. But the reality is a different story. In the US, it costs roughly $20 to $30 to properly disassemble and recycle a single panel, compared to just $1 to $5 to dump it in a landfill.

Because there is little financial incentive to disassemble and recycle parts, around 90% of decommissioned panels in the US and a large share of turbine blades worldwide go straight into the ground.

These devices are highly complex. A solar panel is an industrial ‘sandwich’ bound tightly by heavy polymers. Extracting the microscopic amounts of valuable silver and high-purity silicon requires energy-intensive chemical and thermal processing.

When crushed or left to fracture in landfills, heavy metals like lead and cadmium leach into surrounding soil and groundwater, turning ‘clean energy’ into a multi-generational hazardous waste problem.

The crisis is accelerating faster than models ever predicted. As solar cells degrade and newer, cheaper panels hit the market, consumers and solar farms are ripping out functional systems a decade early to repower and upgrade.

The dream of renewable energy from sunlight and wind has, in reality, created an endless loop of unrecyclable industrial trash.

@ABridgen I am folic acid intolerant. My hubby has prostate cancer. The NHS states that we should avoid synthetic folic acid. It is NOT suitable for everyone. Now I have to read ingredients constantly when food shopping. It's a nightmare. Even this gluten free bread has it! 😡

A quarter of a million badgers were shot in England over thirteen years to control bovine TB.

In a single twelve-month stretch, the testing regime slaughtered 22,934 cattle.

Thirteen years of national argument, and all of it was about the smaller number.

Clarkson's Farm gave one of the larger number a face. She failed a routine test last July, was pregnant with twins, was taken off her calf, and was destroyed. The bull's result came back inconclusive. Farm shut, nothing in or out for two months, because that is how long you wait before you may test again.

Here is what the vet actually did to her.

Clipped two patches of hair on her neck, one above the other. Measured the skin at each with a pair of callipers. Avian tuberculin into the top patch, bovine tuberculin into the bottom. Then he left, and came back seventy-two hours later, and measured the same two patches again.

Take the swelling at the bovine site. Subtract the swelling at the avian site. Four millimetres or more and she is a reactor, and a reactor is destroyed.

Four millimetres. The thickness of a pound coin.

Notice what that test is not doing. It is not finding the bacterium. It is not looking at her lungs. It asks her immune system which tuberculosis it recognises more strongly, the cattle sort or the bird sort, and reads the answer off her neck as a lump. A cow can be riddled with it and barely reply. A cow can reply loudly and be carrying nothing at all. Her breeding changes how loudly she answers.

It is essentially the instrument Koch handed the world in 1890. The target for a TB-free England is 2038.

Every argument you have ever heard about bovine TB was about the animal in the hedge. Not one of them was about the pound coin.

I wrote to my MP about folic acid. He’s also a practising GP. I got this lazy and ill-informed reply (my highlighting). I have suggested he take it more seriously !
