So many of you have suggested we visit The Valley of Desolation over the last few months and we finally got the opportunity to experience the beautiful views for myself. Now let me share them with you ❤ After leaving Nieu-Bethesda on Saturday morning, Jeandre and I decided to "Sho't Left". All I can say is this was the best detour I've ever made 🇿🇦❤️

The first pic I took as we got out the car. The second is a shot of the view point from the ground. The third is a bird's eye view of what you see from the view point. Look how small it is. The last pic is bird's eye view from a different angle. You have to open them all to see what I mean.

The Valley of Desolation in the Eastern Cape is both a geological phenomenon and a unique Karoo landscape that surrounds the town of Graaff-Reinet.

Sheer cliffs and precariously balanced columns of Dolerite rise 120 metres from the valley floor against the backdrop of the vast plains of the Camdeboo. The internet tells me this is the product of volcanic and erosive forces of nature over 100 million years.

There is no substitute for what the human eye can see vs. what a camera can capture, but I hope these pictures give you a small idea of how incredible the scenery is.

This is exactly why I love road tripping across South Africa. You're driving along and you see a sign. You look over at your mate, you both nod, and the next minute you're driving in the opposite direction to an unknown adventure. When all is said and done, you're filled with joy having taken the leap of faith.

South Africa is the most beautiful country on earth and it deserves time to explore. I hope these pictures from our #LATRoadTrip inspire you to do just that. Our video from this road trip will be up in 4-6 weeks 🥰

8. We're so used to receiving kak news that when something positive happens we demand a public holiday to commemorate it #FamilyMeeting

9. We dare you to find a cooler captain #BeLikeSiya

10. Some may have made tough decisions to leave our beautiful country, others have made tough decisions to stay and fight for her... but no matter where we are - we are family 🌍💚 It's like the sibling relationship where we bicker and argue amongst ourselves, but let someone else insult us and we're defending like Pieter-Steph du Toit in the final.

We have so many reasons to be proud 🇿🇦! Not just of the Springboks but of our people who have united and supported, of our local brands and companies who have brought the gees and of our schools and parents who have encouraged the next generation to support and cheer for each other! We're leading from the bottom up 🇿🇦💚💛🏆
