My boss called me at 11:47pm and said, “Don’t come to work tomorrow. We are restructuring.”

I had just finished a 14-hour shift. I was still in the office.

I said, “Sir, I am still here. Who is restructuring at midnight?”

He went quiet. Then he said, “Just don’t come.”

I opened the company laptop to back up my files. The shared drive was already locked. My email was already disabled.

They did not restructure. They replaced me while I was still on the clock.

The new guy started the next morning. My junior. The one I trained for 11 months.

His first message in the group chat was: “New week, new energy. Let’s deliver.”

I did not reply. I went home, slept 3 hours, and opened my side project. The one I had been building after work since January.

By Friday, my old boss posted a job opening for my role. Salary: half of what he was paying me. Requirements: everything I used to do alone.

My junior applied. Publicly. With a caption: “Ready to step up.”

I screenshotted it and kept building.

Three weeks later the client we almost lost called me directly. They said the new team missed two deadlines and changed the scope without telling them.

They asked if I was free.

I was. I quoted them 3x my old salary, remote, no office politics. They paid the first invoice the same day.

My old boss found out through the client. He called again at night.

This time I let it ring.

The junior texted me the next morning: “Boss said you stole the client. Is that true?”

I sent one line: “I did not steal what you could not keep.”

Last week the company posted “we are pausing operations.” Comments were full of people who were also “restructured” at midnight.

Nobody from management replied.

If they can lock you out while you are still in the building, you were never staff. You were a spare part.

Build the thing they cannot lock.

Ilhan Omar will have to reapply for citizenship, according to an order from the 4th District US Immigration Court.

"She was granted citizenship as a minor child of a naturalized person, but they lied about her age," said Immigration Judge Jeb Narroo, "Since she was 18 at the time, she's required to apply herself."

The court gave her 30 days to complete the process legally, otherwise her citizenship will be stripped, which disqualifies her from Congress.

Omar says she's appealing the decision.

WOW okay so the most amazing thing just happened to me and I can’t help but share it with the world

American Airlines instituted a new policy where you have to pay to take a carry-on onto the plane. Which is ridiculous but off topic. I consolidate my bags into one and they measure it and say it’s just a little too big. They proceed to charge me $50, except they only take credit card, no cash. Since I just got back from Europe all my cards are being declined as Chase doesn’t know I’m back. They tell me that I’m going to have to miss the flight and head back to the ticket counter to pay down there. I’m pleading, devastated after a long day of travel. Then, this man walks up and says, “How much is it?” They tell him $50 and he says “I got it.” I’m astonished and tell him it’s fine not to worry and he hands the lady his card as the American Airlines employees stand in silence shocked by this man’s generosity. They swipe the card and he tells me to have a great flight and hop on board. I’m crying as I write this and as I board the flight. This man was an angel. I stop him as he’s sitting in first class and try to give him my money but he just shook me off and told me to pay it forward. My heart is so happy. There are good people in this world.
