Kate Gelsthorpe

I quote Tom (12) and Alice (10). 💙

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Alice: “I made you a list of the clothes I wanted you to pack for me.”

Me: “Why didn’t you just set out the stack of clothes?”

Alice: “Because I was busy making the list!”

This is what you get when you ask the sports guy to come in to cover a blizzard in the morning show.

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me: "In a few years, you'll be able to drive to your friend's houses and pick them up. Where are y'all gonna hang out?"

Tom (12): "Umm...not a bar...and not in an alley that has drugs."

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me (joking): "Did you do that when I explicitly asked you not to?"

Alice: "Oh my gosh, did you say explicitly?! I think that's a bad word!"

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Tom: "Thank you Mom and Dad for dinner!"
Alice: "Dad didn't do anything."
Tom: "Oh, that's true. Nevermind."

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

@k_robyn_ LOVE you, Robia!

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

"AJ already has armpit hair...it's really gross. One time he showed it to me at lunch." --Alice

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

“Mom! Can I show you this cool game? It’s called The Oregon Trail, and it’s cool and looks like a game they played on computers in the old timey days…like the 1900s!” -Alice

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Alice: No beans for me!

Tom: May I have more beans please?

Alice: Ugh! He’s just saying that to annoy me!

Tom: I swear…I love beans. #dinnertime

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

“Mom, I think you’re beautiful and have a natural glow. I don’t know what that means, but I’m pretty sure you have it.” -Alice

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me to the kids: If you could visit another country, which would you pick?

Tom: Hawaii?

Alice: New York?

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me: "Why didn't you wash your hair?"

Tom: "Oh, I made an executive decision not to."

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me: “Did you want to go to your school’s football game tonight?”

Tom: “No. I don’t really want to see… the sports.”

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

@k_robyn_ Oh my gosh, this poor guy! No wonder he hates it. 😂

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me: (showing Tom a new sweater) “What do you think?”

Tom:”Umm…maybe you could wear it as a morning sweater, you know? Like…not out in public.”

I have zero respect for any parent fighting against masks in schools. It's unconscionable.

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

@KeriChallen Do you like how on top of my Twitter replies I am?!

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Me: "I thought you said you liked these noodles."

Alice: "Yeah...I was just being nice."

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Alice: “When I have a baby, I just want you and Hazel in the room.”

Me: “What about the baby’s dad?”

A: “He can wait in the hall with Tom because they’ll probably want to talk about things that I DON’T want to talk about.”

[Kate Gelsthorpe @LoveAndKate]

Alice: "Some good guys get killed in this movie."
Me: "That's terrible!"
Alice: "Well, it's an old movie, so they didn't know stuff like that would hurt people's feelings back then." #cloakanddagger
