Idk but Michelle Obama telling Barack “You told me all those years ago that you couldn't promise me the world, but you could promise me an interesting life. And, of course you outdid yourself and managed to give me both." is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard someone say to another 🥹
I will never understand the fervent defense of government. They should always be put on the stand. They should always have to provide clarification, explanations, and justifications. They should always have to demonstrate they’re acting in good faith. Keep them on their toes.
imitation was never flattery. it was always weird. being inspired by others here & there is what’s normal. however, silently copying many things abt someone is honestly just creepy fr.
Say what you want about older generations but one thing I took from them is the importance of being prepared. We’re too quick to accept avoidable mistakes these days and we’re becoming mediocre as a result of it. You won’t always get another shot; get it right the first time.
You could be having the most awful day and a random girl comes to you and gives you the cutest compliment. That's why I will always choose girlhood 🥺🥺🥺
“I’ve also learned that fame is a circumstance, not an identity. It’s easy to get caught up in attention, numbers, and outside opinions, but those
things can change overnight. What lasts is your character, how you treat people, and the impact you have on others. I try to make decisions based on who I am, not on who people expect me to be.”

Therapy helps but let’s be clear. You can’t CBT your way out of capitalism. You can’t mindfulness your way out of racism. You can’t self care your way out of oppression. You can’t journal your way out of ableism. This isn’t about coping, it’s about deconstructing the systems.
I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, “Never play fair in a game where others cheat.” It doesn’t mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they’ll throw dirt. Sometimes wisdom is not revenge. Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
FYI leopard print precedes Mobutu or Coming to America film.
Leopard skin on the shoulder in Kongo culture was reserved for Kings, Chiefs, and spiritual leaders. The leopard represents supreme authority, a bridge between worlds of the living and the dead and uncontested power.
music is literally one of the best ways to understand the depths of a person. there’s so much to learn through the way someone hears, appreciates, & interprets music. it’s a cheat code.
You should have things you don't do, places you don't go to, substances you don't take, words you don't say
By all means, have Principles and Standards.
