I think a lot of us entered nursing thinking the hardest part was getting the certificate.

I used to think once I finished nursing school and became a nurse, somehow everything would just fall into place. Good job, good money, the life I wanted… I thought it would happen naturally.

Then school ended. Internship applications started. Job hunting, responsibilities and trying to figure out what to do next started piling up.

Omo no level.

That was when I realized that being a nurse gives you a profession, but it doesn’t automatically give you the life you want in Nigeria.

You can have the certificate, the potential and the ability, but if you don’t put yourself out there, keep learning, apply for opportunities and take action, nothing changes.

In Nigeria, potential without action is just wasted ability.

You have to go out there and build the life you want.

Every entrepreneur knows this feeling but nobody talks about it.

Someone messages your business line.

"Good morning sir."

You reply: "Good morning, how can I help?"

And they hit you with:

"Please I need your help. I want to start a business but I don't have capital. Can you advise me?"

"Sir, I've been following you. Can you just guide me on how to make money online?"

"I'm a serious person, I just need mentorship. I don't have money now but I'll pay later."

And there's this thing that happens in your chest.

Annoyance. But also guilt.

Because you want to help. You genuinely do.

But you also know that if you spend 30 minutes helping every stranger who slides into your DM expecting free consulting, you won't have time to serve the people who actually paid you.

So you feel trapped.

Help them and rob your paying customers.
Ignore them and feel like a bad person.

Here's what nobody tells you:

You are NOT a bad person for protecting your time.

"How can I help?" is a GREETING. Not an invitation to make withdrawals from an account where you deposited nothing.

When GTBank teller says "How may I help you?" you don't ask them to dash you money from the vault. You understand it's a business.

But somehow, when it's an entrepreneur's DM, people forget that basic respect.

The truth?

Your DM is not a CHARITY OFFICE.
Your knowledge is not public property.
Your time is certainly not free just because you're polite.

And you don't owe anyone an apology for treating your business like a business.

If you've ever felt guilty for ignoring these messages, STOP.

You're not wicked.
You're not proud.
You're just someone who understands that value must be exchanged, not extracted.

Some will read this and feel attacked.
Some will say "Na wa, these online people don't want to help anybody."

But a few?

A few entrepreneurs will finally BREATHE.

Because somebody finally said what they've been thinking for months.

If you're one of the few... you know what to do.
