Maybe the most romantic thing someone can give you isn't butterflies, it's certainty. Knowing a difficult conversation won't make them leave, their affection won't vanish with a bad mood, knowing you don't have to perform to be loved.
You are allowed to experience joy while things in your life are unresolved. If you postpone happiness until everything is perfect, you’ll be postponing it forever.
my dream marriage is literally just us being best friends, laughing in the kitchen, going on random dates and knowing we can always come home to each other.
dissapearing on your partner after conflict when they need clarity or closeness is not giving yourself space. it is emotional abuse. the anxiety and abandonment wounds it creates are very real
After having a 3 day weekend and having to come back to work this morning I realized something. I gotta figure out a way to make $50M and quit the workforce by tomorrow 😪
The first sign of spiritual warfare is laziness. You suddenly become lazy and completely unmotivated to do basic things like reading your Bible, studying, or even cleaning your room. If you don't fight it, it progresses. You start feeling sad for no reason. This sadness comes with a physical heaviness, like a dark weight is literally resting on your shoulders. Then, that sadness turns into bitterness and anger. Nothing excites you anymore.
If you never want to be an inconvenience, then you’ll never have any meaningful friendship, a meaningful marriage, or any meaningful relationship with anyone.
To love someone is to inconvenience them, it is to need them, it is to interrupt their plans, it is to ask for help, to need a ride at 2 in the morning to the airport, to need a store run because you must eat pickles right at this moment, all of it an annoying inconvenience.
And yet all of it also a wonderful inconvenience.
To be loved is to be inconvenienced, because a life where nobody bothers you, where nobody inconveniences you, is not a better happier one, it is just simply, and plainly, terribly lonely.
Oh absolutely! They’re out there, they’re also very smart, faithful, attentive, loyal, loving, giving, providing, protective, etc. don’t fall for what you see on social media. There are genuinely amazing men out there, my dad is one, my man is one, & my oldest brother is one.
