Tate McRae speaks to Rolling Stone about her reaction to Taylor Swift praising her music:
“My mom is so witchy. She said the week before, ‘I feel like Taylor Swift is in your ether right now.’ And I was like, ‘What? That’s so random.’ I’m such a massive fan, and I adore her. So when I pulled up my phone and saw that she had talked about it, it was one of the coolest moments ever. She is such an inspiration for me as a writer and, obviously, as a woman in the industry. For her to acknowledge that was really special.”
Rolling Stone on the online backlash around “The Life of a Showgirl”:
“People turn off certain parts of their brain when they hear [Taylor’s] voice […] Some of the online discourse around this album has been downright ludicrous, rooted in bad-faith misreadings of lyrics by listeners weirdly determined to paint Swift as some kind of trad-wife MAGA fanatic, despite her open support of Democratic candidates, including an endorsement of Kamala Harris just last year.”
'25' is an incredible album and this was a historic feat, but I'm confused by the rewriting of history happening on this app right now. Adele purposely withheld the album from streaming for the first *several months*, so to listen, you HAD to buy a physical copy
