Interesting response from Home Office via BBC chiding me for relying on "cheap foreign labour". Bit of an insult to skilled chefs and waiters. I had 1 foreign chef a highly paid pastrycook. Small wonder filipina are care workers and nurses are aggrieved by the attitude 3%?
need to close next week very few crew and have relied on a couple of people who used to work for me to get through last fortnight - just the three of us rather than usual 8. Will reopen with another old colleague on 4th Aug and keep fingers crossed nobody sick or unable to cope
Folk have been making foodie pilgrimages to countryside inn @lovewalnuttree just outside Abergavenny since the 1960s: a relaxed, stretch-out-your-legs space amid one of Wales’ most striking landscapes.
Walnut Tree reopens next week but of course with new gaps in the kitchen crew. I'll need a new head chef to work with me if anyone has any ideas. Hard and exacting job of course but I'm very pleasant to work with I'm told
