LA homelessness rises 3.4% as real estate leader John Alle rips Mayor Karen Bass for repeatedly refusing to visit neighborhoods ravaged by crime and drug use.

The latest count found 45,194 people experiencing homelessness in L.A., with the number of people living on the streets surging 7.9% to an estimated 29,115. Alle, a Los Angeles property owner and co-founder of the Santa Monica Coalition, says he's invited Bass "numerous times" to ride through Alvarado, MacArthur Park and Westlake — and she's declined every time.

Meanwhile, Alle's coalition has partnered with an AI company to create a hotline helping homeless people voluntarily return to their home states, sending more than 40 people home in the past year.
