@cowbroker It. It gets pretty expensive. If you look at it as a one time investment, probably not so bad. We have switched a lot of the new ones to radial tires and got along good. The track filler will make it so you won’t have to do much with a closer.
@cowbroker Now the down fall. It takes a lot of material to do a standard 7 twr pvt. I hauled 20 18 ton bobtails load to the first 4 circles we did. Didn’t even get the outside 2 tracks done. It took about 70-80 loads/circle. If you have your own sandpit, not too bad but if you are buying
@cowbroker We’ve had one for probably 15 years. Don’t use much anymore except to do some track maintenance. Blow sand will stay out really well. We striptill mainly so not a lot of way to move it around. Carts are well built if you don’t turn them too tight.
@A_Linsey24 The are at there best when the have plenty of space, big fields where the ground is smooth. Don’t really get the benefit in small fields or terraces. Anywhere, you are stopping and turning. Striptilled ground we seem to be limited to about 8mph to get it to drive straight.
@A_Linsey24 We’ve run one for 5 seasons. I like it, haven’t had many issues. To make it really plant nice, we have to replace the brush belts at a higher frequency than I was told we would. At $200/belt that has been a higher cost than I had planned. Metering is good except for small flats.
@Cropwise1@4720john I’m not sure it would completely break, the upper leaves are still clean but the flag leaf is showing a few pustules. Not sure you can take that chance as aggressive as the southern rust is.
